Sports Day and poetry!

We're always trying to link writing to some of the fun events happeneing in the school. Today we all enjoyed our sporting activities, but in Year 2, also used it as an opportunity to write some poems, that captured some of the energy and excitement of the day.

Here are a couple of the poems we wrote...

A Fun Sport's Day by Sophie
Balancing on benches,
Turning hands,
Twisting hips,
Scoring goals,
Cheering loved ones,
Making a fabulous effort,
Thowing into the octopus,
Jumping over the ladder,
Getting to the finish!

Sport's Day Fun by Owen
Running races,
Shining faces,
Jumping off benches,
Scoring amazing goals,
Beating my friends,
Clapping families,
Smiling teachers,
Running down the track,
Tripping over,
Chucking bean-bags,
Spinning pois in the air,
Licking ice-lollies.

Sport's Day Poem by Luke
Running and racing,
Zooming and winning,
Clapping and cheering,
Scoring a goal!
Slipping and crying,
Sucking the lollies,
Cheering families!

Thanks very much to all the Year 5 children who helped run all the fun activities for the Infants! You were all fantastic and we appreciate all your patience!
